## Overview

Plivo has spent fifteen years being the cheaper alternative to Twilio, and it has done it profitably. The product itself covers the same primitives as its competitors: Plivo XML and REST APIs for call control, PHLO for building call flows in a visual editor without writing code, browser and mobile SDKs for WebRTC, Zentrunk for SIP trunking into an existing PBX, answering machine detection, conferencing, IVR, text to speech, speech recognition, and transcription.
