# Putler

> Putler is an ecommerce and payments analytics platform that merges orders and customers from payment gateways such as PayPal and Stripe, stores such as WooCommerce, Shopify, and Etsy, and Google Analytics into one cleaned, de-duplicated dataset, sorts every customer into eleven RFM segments recalculated daily, lets an operator filter, save, and export segments to CSV or straight to Mailchimp, and reports sales, products, subscriptions, and forecasts, priced monthly by the business's revenue from $20 for stores under $10,000 a month.

## Overview

Putler comes at customer segmentation from an unusual direction. The Shopify apps in this category read one store; Putler was built to read everything a small online business sells through and reconcile it. It connects payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.Net, 2Checkout, Razorpay, SagePay), shopping carts and marketplaces (WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Easy Digital Downloads, Gumroad, eBay, Etsy, Amazon), and Google Analytics, then merges them into master records. The vendor lists a long set of corrections it applies on the way: matching a customer whose PayPal email differs from their store email, converting currencies and timezones, catching one-time payments taken directly in a gateway, and updating orders after refunds, disputes, and chargebacks. For a business selling in three places, that clean customer list is the precondition for any segment meaning anything.

The segmentation is RFM first. Once data is imported, Putler scores every customer on recency, frequency, and monetary value and places them in one of eleven named segments, from Champions and Loyal Customers through Customers Needing Attention, At Risk, and About To Sleep, shown as a chart on the customer dashboard and recalculated every 24 hours. Clicking a segment lists its customers, and changing the date range narrows the list to customers who fall in that segment for the period. Beyond RFM, filters on dozens of fields, prebuilt drilldowns by location, price, and product, and saved segments that can be edited in place cover custom definitions, and customer profiles are enriched with geolocation, order history, and a screenshot of the customer's website.

Activation is where Putler is thinnest in this category. A segment can be exported to CSV or pushed to Mailchimp directly from the customer list, and that is the documented extent of it. There is no live audience sync to Klaviyo, Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok of the kind By the Numbers, Segments by Tresl, Metorik, and Peel offer, so Putler suits a business that runs periodic campaigns from exported lists rather than one that needs audiences refreshed hourly. What it adds instead is breadth outside segmentation: sales and product reports, SaaS metrics such as MRR and churn for mixed subscription and one-time businesses, forecasting and revenue goals, refunds and subscription management from inside the app, team access controls, a Chrome extension that shows customer profiles in a help desk, and an AI assistant called Copilot for paid users.

Pricing follows revenue rather than orders. Putler measures a business's monthly revenue and bills the matching band each month: $20 up to $10,000, $50 up to $30,000, $100 up to $50,000, rising to $2,250 for $3 million to $5 million, with a custom plan beyond. The vendor says most small stores pay $20 to $50. The trial is 14 days with no card and shows the last 90 days of data. Putler was founded by Nirav Mehta, grew out of a script he wrote around 2009 to check PayPal balances, and is run from Mumbai by LeapVen Solutions Private Limited with a US entity, Leap Ventures, Inc., alongside the vendor's WordPress products Icegram, Offermative, and StoreApps. The vendor claims more than a thousand customers.

## How it works

1. You start a 14-day trial with no credit card and connect your payment gateways, stores, and marketplaces, plus Google Analytics. The vendor says initial setup takes 10 to 15 minutes; the trial shows reports for the last 90 days of data.

2. Putler imports the transactions and merges them into master customer, order, and product records, resolving duplicates, currency and timezone differences, refunds, and mismatches between the store and the payment gateway.

3. Every customer is scored on recency, frequency, and monetary value and placed in one of eleven RFM segments on the customer dashboard. The chart covers all imported data and is redrawn every 24 hours.

4. You click a segment to list its customers for the chosen date range, refine it with filters and drilldowns, save it as a segment you can edit later, and export it to CSV or send it directly to Mailchimp.

5. At the end of each month Putler checks the revenue it tracked over the last 30 days and bills the matching band, so the plan moves up or down with the business automatically.

## Best for

Small online businesses that sell across more than one store, marketplace, or payment gateway, including digital product and subscription sellers, and want one clean customer list with automatic RFM segments and CSV or Mailchimp export, at a price that starts at $20 a month for businesses under $10,000 in monthly revenue.

## Not the right fit for

- Shopify stores that want segments synced live into Klaviyo, Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok; Putler exports to CSV and Mailchimp only.
- Teams that want to rebuild RFM scoring with their own thresholds; the eleven segments are calculated automatically and the documentation does not describe tuning them.
- Larger brands, since revenue-based pricing reaches $750 a month between $500,000 and $1 million in monthly revenue and $2,250 at $3 million to $5 million.
- Businesses that need a documented outbound API; Putler's Outbound API is available case by case at extra cost.
- Buyers who need a refund safety net; the terms state Putler has no refund policy, relying on the trial and live demo instead.

## Features

### RFM and customer segmentation

Automatic RFM segments plus filters and saved segments on a cleaned customer list.

- **Eleven automatic RFM segments**: Customers are grouped into Champions, Loyal Customers, Potential Loyalist, Recent Customers, Promising, Customers Needing Attention, About To Sleep, At Risk, and other named segments, each with suggested actions in the vendor's guide.
- **Daily recalculation**: The RFM chart is recalculated every 24 hours on all imported data; the vendor notes it can show blank for about 90 minutes while it redraws.
- **RFM for any date range**: The chart covers all data, but clicking a segment after changing the date range lists the customers in that segment for the chosen period, such as the last three months.
- **Advanced filters and drilldowns**: Filters on dozens of fields and prebuilt drilldowns by location, pricing, order status, products, and customer behavior, with instant search across customers, orders, and products.
- **Saved and editable segments**: Filter combinations can be saved as segments for reuse, and since September 2025 an existing segment's filters can be edited without creating a new one.
- **Enriched customer profiles**: Profiles combine order history across sources with geolocation, standardized addresses and phone numbers, email quality checks, and a screenshot of the customer's website.
- **80/20 and top customer analysis**: Reports identify the customers and products that produce most revenue, alongside new, returning, and recurring customer counts and lifetime value.

### Activation and export

How a segment leaves Putler.

- **Export to Mailchimp**: A direct integration sends a segment's customers to Mailchimp from the customer list, without a CSV step.
- **CSV export**: Any filtered list of customers or orders exports to CSV for email tools or building custom audiences elsewhere.
- **Chrome extension**: Pulls up a customer's full Putler profile inside a help desk, CRM, or other site the team uses.
- **Weekly email reports**: A weekly summary of key numbers goes out by email, with growth suggestions from the vendor's insight engine.

### Data consolidation

The cleanup that makes segments across several sources trustworthy.

- **Multi-source merging**: Orders, customers, and products from gateways, carts, and marketplaces are mapped into master records, including the same product sold on several channels.
- **Duplicate and mismatch resolution**: Handles customers whose gateway email differs from their store email, transaction ID mismatches, and status changes that gateways and carts fail to sync.
- **Currency and timezone conversion**: Balances and transactions are converted to one currency with automatic exchange rates, and timezone differences are reconciled.
- **Refunds, disputes, and one-time payments**: Full and partial refunds, chargebacks, and settlements update orders, and payments taken directly in PayPal or Stripe are captured.
- **Inbound API**: An open Inbound API brings in orders from sources without a native integration, such as a point-of-sale system.

### Reporting, operations, and planning

The analytics and admin tools around the segments.

- **Sales, product, and visitor reports**: The vendor cites more than 200 metrics covering sales trends, a sales heatmap, product leaderboards, frequently bought together, variations, and Google Analytics traffic.
- **Subscription metrics**: MRR, ARR, churn, upgrades and downgrades, and lifetime value for subscription revenue from Stripe, PayPal, and others, in mixed subscription and one-time businesses.
- **Forecasting and revenue goals**: Monthly revenue goals tracked against a forecast, a 12-month projection model, and a growth model.
- **Refunds and subscription management**: Issue full or partial refunds and manage or cancel subscriptions from inside Putler, including Authorize.net since January 2025.
- **Team access control**: Share Putler with a team while restricting what each member can view or do.
- **Putler Copilot**: An AI chat assistant on the home dashboard, added in September 2025, answers questions about the business's data; the vendor says it is for paid users and not available to team members.

## Use cases

- **Digital product seller on WooCommerce, Gumroad, and PayPal**: Customers buy through three channels and appear as three different people, so nobody knows who the best buyers actually are. Outcome: Putler merges the sources into one customer list, the Champions and Loyal Customers segments show the real repeat buyers, and the list goes to Mailchimp for a launch offer.
- **Small subscription business running win-back campaigns**: Lapsed customers are identified by hand from Stripe exports once a quarter. Outcome: The At Risk and About To Sleep RFM segments, recalculated daily, are exported to CSV each month for a win-back sequence, while MRR and churn sit on the same dashboard.
- **Etsy and Shopify seller planning a holiday sale**: The seller wants to know which past customers bought during last year's sale and have not returned since. Outcome: A saved segment filters customers by past purchase dates and products across both shops, and is exported for a targeted email before the sale.
- **Founder handling support alongside sales**: Finding an order in PayPal and issuing a refund takes minutes each time, and support staff need gateway logins to do it. Outcome: Support searches and refunds from Putler with limited team permissions, and the Chrome extension shows the customer's segment and history inside the help desk.

## Pricing

Metered monthly subscription priced by the business's monthly revenue as tracked by Putler over the previous 30 days. The plan moves between revenue bands automatically each month. All plans share the core feature set, with unlimited orders; the pricing page says plans differ in the number of data sources, and the custom plan also asks about years of historical data. A custom plan is quoted above $5 million in monthly revenue.

- **Up to $10K monthly revenue**: $20 per month. Core analytics for sales, customers, products, and subscriptions; Multi-account consolidation and data cleanup; Enriched customer profiles and weekly email reports; Unlimited orders. The vendor says most small stores pay $20 to $50 a month.
- **$10K to $30K**: $50 per month. Same common feature set; Plan follows tracked revenue each month.
- **$30K to $100K**: $100 to $150 per month. $100 for $30K to $50K; $150 for $50K to $100K.
- **$100K to $1M**: $250 to $750 per month. $250 for $100K to $200K; $350 for $200K to $300K; $500 for $300K to $500K; $750 for $500K to $1M.
- **$1M to $5M**: $1,500 to $2,250 per month. $1,500 for $1M to $3M; $2,250 for $3M to $5M.
- **Custom**: Quote contact sales. Tailored to revenue, number of data sources, and years of historical data.

Billing notes:

- To start paying you are charged $1 at checkout; Putler then tracks revenue for 30 days and bills the matching band, moving up or down automatically each month.
- Usage alerts are emailed on the 20th and 25th of each month ahead of the metered bill.
- The pricing page publishes only monthly rates. Putler's GDPR page refers to annual subscriptions, but no annual price or discount is published.
- Plans differ in the number of data sources allowed, according to the pricing FAQ, but the per-band limits are not published.
- Older help articles say RFM is only on Growth and Scale plans and that a Starter plan imports two years of history; those plan names no longer appear on the pricing page, so confirm RFM and history depth for your band during the trial.
- The terms state Putler has no refund policy; cancelling stops the next charge and access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Non-profits and educational institutions can request a 50 percent discount.

Value assessment: At the bottom of the market Putler is good value for a particular kind of business. A seller under $10,000 a month pays $20 for automatic RFM segments across every store and gateway it uses, data cleanup that the single-store apps never attempt, and sales and subscription reporting besides, which is about what By the Numbers charges for one Shopify store. The value case turns on activation and on scale. If segments need to reach Klaviyo, Meta, or Google Ads on their own, By the Numbers, Tresl, or Metorik do that and Putler does not. And because the meter is revenue rather than orders, a high-ticket business pays more than on Metorik, where $250 covers up to 5,000 orders; at $200,000 in monthly revenue Putler costs $350. The unresolved question of which bands include RFM, given older documentation, is worth settling in the trial.

### Entry price history

Dates are when SaaSTracker checked the vendor's published pricing, not when the vendor changed it.

Entry price first recorded on 26 September 2026. It will be re-checked when this category next comes round the rotation.

| Checked | Entry price | Normalised | Event | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2026-09-26 | $20 per month for businesses with up to $10,000 in monthly revenue, billed monthly; no annual rate is published | $20 monthly, flat | recorded | |

## Strengths

- Consolidates payment gateways, stores, marketplaces, and Google Analytics into one de-duplicated customer list, which no Shopify-only app in this category attempts.
- Eleven named RFM segments calculated automatically and redrawn every 24 hours, with segment membership for any date range.
- Works across PayPal, Stripe, WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Etsy, eBay, Amazon, Gumroad, and Easy Digital Downloads.
- Direct segment export to Mailchimp, plus CSV export for anything else.
- Entry price of $20 a month for businesses under $10,000 in monthly revenue, with a 14-day trial and no card.
- Subscription metrics, forecasting, refunds, and subscription management alongside the segments.
- Active in 2026, with a feature release in April and blog posts published through September.

## Limitations

- No live audience sync to Klaviyo, Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok; activation is CSV and Mailchimp.
- RFM segments are fixed and automatic, with no documented way to change the scoring.
- Revenue-based pricing penalizes high-ticket businesses and climbs to $750 a month at $500,000 to $1 million in revenue.
- No published annual rate, and plan limits on data sources and history are not published per band.
- Some help articles still describe an older plan structure in which RFM was limited to higher plans.
- Outbound API only by arrangement and at extra cost.
- No refund policy.
- The trial covers only the last 90 days of data.

## Comparisons

- **Putler vs Metorik**: The two multi-source options most likely to be shortlisted by a WooCommerce seller. Metorik prices by orders from $25, offers more than 500 filters, sends email itself, and syncs segments to Facebook and Google Ads every six hours, on WooCommerce and Shopify. Putler prices by revenue from $20, adds payment gateways and marketplaces such as PayPal, Stripe, Etsy, and Amazon, and hands you eleven automatic RFM segments, but exports only to CSV and Mailchimp. A business selling through several gateways and marketplaces gets a cleaner customer list from Putler; a WooCommerce store that wants live ad audiences should take Metorik.
- **Putler vs Metrilo**: Both work beyond Shopify. Metrilo is an ecommerce CRM from $199 a month, reaching segmentation and its own email sending on the $379 tier. Putler starts at $20 for businesses under $10,000 a month, includes RFM segments and Mailchimp export, and consolidates payment gateways as well as stores. For a small multi-platform seller Putler costs a fraction as much; Metrilo suits a brand that wants a CRM profile and email in one system.
- **Putler vs By the Numbers**: Similar entry prices, different scope. By the Numbers is a $19 Shopify app with a sixteen-cell RFM matrix, more than seventy-five filters, and hourly sync to Klaviyo, Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok. Putler starts at $20, works across gateways, carts, and marketplaces, and uses eleven RFM segments, but exports only to CSV and Mailchimp. On a single Shopify store with Klaviyo, By the Numbers is the better tool; for a business selling in several places, it cannot see the other channels and Putler can.
- **Putler vs Repeat Customer Insights**: Repeat Customer Insights is a Shopify RFM and cohort specialist from $59 that explains why customers lapse and syncs to Shopify tags and Klaviyo. Putler's RFM is simpler and automatic, without the interpretation, but covers every store and gateway a business uses from $20. Shopify consumables brands wanting advice should choose Repeat; multi-channel sellers wanting one merged customer list should choose Putler.
- **Putler vs Peel Insights**: Peel is a retention analytics platform from $179 a month on the annual rate, with 38 cohort analyses and audiences sent to Klaviyo, Attentive, and Facebook for Shopify and Amazon brands. Putler starts at $20, is far lighter on cohort analysis and activation, and reaches payment gateways and marketplaces Peel does not. Brands with real order volume and a Klaviyo program belong on Peel; small multi-channel sellers will get most of what they need from Putler at a tenth of the price.
- **Putler vs RFM Calc**: RFM Calc is a cheaper, deeper-analysis alternative for small sellers off Shopify: a free-for-life plan with standard RFM segments, lifetime value, cohorts, and repeat timing, and from £19 a customer file with scores, segments, and predicted next order dates, plus adjustable RFM bins and custom segments. Putler keeps the advantage of live connections to gateways, carts, and marketplaces with RFM redrawn daily and Mailchimp export, so businesses that want segments kept current without uploads should stay with Putler.

## Pairs well with

Putler is a segmentation tool, and a team running it still has 6 neighbouring categories to staff. The pick in each is Mailchimp for email service providers, HubSpot Marketing Hub for marketing automation, Amplitude for product analytics & session replay, Paddle Retain for retention & churn prevention, Postscript for SMS marketing and Paddle for subscription billing, each the leading tool in that category on published criteria.

| Category | Ideal pairing | Because | Benefit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Email Service Providers | [Mailchimp](https://saastracker.org/products/mailchimp) (Category Leader) | Putler is built for segmentation, not ESPs. Mailchimp adds mature developer surface. | An opt-in audience is owned rather than rented, and reaching it costs nothing per send. |
| Marketing Automation | [HubSpot Marketing Hub](https://saastracker.org/products/hubspot-marketing-hub) (Category Leader) | Putler lists the trial covers only the last 90 days of data among its limits. HubSpot Marketing Hub adds shared CRM database across marketing, sales, service, and content. | Follow-up fires off behaviour rather than a calendar, so nobody is chased at the wrong moment. |
| Product Analytics & Session Replay | [Amplitude](https://saastracker.org/products/amplitude) (Category Leader) | Putler is built for segmentation, not product analytics. Amplitude adds financial transparency no competitor offers. | Feature usage and drop-off are measurable, so a roadmap argument can end with evidence. |
| Retention & Churn Prevention | [Paddle Retain](https://saastracker.org/products/paddle-retain) (Category Leader) | Putler is built for segmentation, not retention. Paddle Retain adds free for Paddle Billing merchants. | Accounts at risk surface while there is still time to call, rather than at renewal. |
| SMS Marketing | [Postscript](https://saastracker.org/products/postscript) (Category Leader) | Putler is built for segmentation, not SMS. Postscript adds shopify-native data model. | The urgent message gets read within minutes, on the one channel almost nobody ignores. |
| Subscription Billing | [Paddle](https://saastracker.org/products/paddle) (Category Leader) | Putler is built for segmentation, not billing. Paddle adds 5 percent rate. | Recurring revenue bills, retries and reconciles itself, including the tax nobody wants to calculate. |

Pairings follow the SaaSTracker methodology (https://saastracker.org/methodology): the leading tool in each complementary category, chosen on published criteria. Placement cannot be purchased.

## Implementation

- Setup time: The vendor says connecting accounts takes 10 to 15 minutes. Import and processing follow, and the RFM chart appears once processing finishes; a redraw takes about 90 minutes according to the help center.
- Learning curve: Low. RFM segments are ready without configuration and the dashboards need no setup; filters, saved segments, and drilldowns take a little exploration.
- Onboarding: Self-serve with a 14-day trial and no card, a live demo account, documentation, and support by email and contact form during trial and after. Pre-sales calls are available, with hours listed as Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm India time.
- Migration: Putler reads from your gateways and stores, so leaving loses saved segments and reports but not the underlying records. Segments already sent to Mailchimp remain there. Export customer and segment lists to CSV before cancelling, since store data is deleted from Putler after a subscription ends.

## Platform, API & security

- Platforms: Web app, Chrome extension, Weekly email reports, Inbound API
- API: An open Inbound API for sending orders from sources without an integration; the Outbound API for taking data out is available case by case at extra cost.
- Compliance: GDPR commitments published, with data processing described on the vendor's GDPR page, Stores remain responsible for the consent basis of segments exported to Mailchimp or elsewhere
- Data residency: The vendor states all data and backups are stored in different locations in Germany.
- SSO: Not advertised.
- Security notes: Access is HTTPS only, data source connections use access tokens, passwords are stored encrypted, each account's data is isolated, and staff access metrics only for support. Store data is deleted when a store is removed or shortly after a subscription ends. No SOC 2 or ISO certification is claimed.

## Support

- Channels: Email and contact form, Pre-sales calls, Live demo account
- Documentation: A documentation site covering setup, RFM segmentation, exports, and integrations, a public changelog, a metrics section, and a blog updated through September 2026.
- Community: Customer case studies and a reviews page on the vendor's site; no public user community.

## FAQ

### What is Putler?

Putler is an analytics platform for online businesses that merges data from payment gateways, stores, marketplaces, and Google Analytics into one cleaned dataset, sorts customers into RFM segments, and reports on sales, products, customers, and subscriptions.

### How much does Putler cost?

It is priced by monthly revenue: $20 up to $10,000, $50 up to $30,000, $100 up to $50,000, $150 up to $100,000, and on up to $2,250 for $3 million to $5 million, with a custom plan above that. The vendor says most small stores pay $20 to $50. No annual rate is published.

### How does Putler's billing work?

You are charged $1 when you start a paid plan. Putler then tracks your revenue for 30 days and bills the matching band, and it rechecks each month, so the bill rises or falls with revenue. Email alerts about usage arrive on the 20th and 25th of the month.

### Does Putler do RFM segmentation?

Yes. It automatically places every customer in one of eleven RFM segments, such as Champions, Loyal Customers, At Risk, and About To Sleep, recalculated every 24 hours. You can list a segment's customers for any date range and export them.

### Where can Putler send segments?

Directly to Mailchimp, or to a CSV file for any other tool. It does not sync audiences live to Klaviyo, Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok, which is the main gap against By the Numbers, Segments by Tresl, and Metorik.

### Which platforms does Putler support?

Payment gateways including PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.Net, 2Checkout, Razorpay, and SagePay; stores and marketplaces including WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Easy Digital Downloads, Gumroad, eBay, Etsy, and Amazon; Google Analytics; Mailchimp; and an Inbound API for anything else.

### Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days with every feature and no credit card, with unlimited accounts and orders. Reports during the trial cover the last 90 days of data.

### Is RFM included on every plan?

The current pricing page lists one revenue-based ladder with a shared feature set, but older help articles say RFM is only on the former Growth and Scale plans. Check that the RFM chart appears for your revenue band during the trial.

### Does Putler offer refunds?

No. The terms state Putler has no refund policy because it offers a live demo and a 14-day trial. Cancelling stops the next charge.

### Who makes Putler?

Putler was founded by Nirav Mehta and is operated by LeapVen Solutions Private Limited in Mumbai, with a US entity, Leap Ventures, Inc., in Covina, California. The same team makes Icegram, Offermative, and StoreApps.

### What should I pair Putler with?

Putler is a segmentation tool, and a team running it still has 6 neighbouring categories to staff. The pick in each is Mailchimp for email service providers, HubSpot Marketing Hub for marketing automation, Amplitude for product analytics & session replay, Paddle Retain for retention & churn prevention, Postscript for SMS marketing and Paddle for subscription billing, each the leading tool in that category on published criteria.

### What do I pair with Putler for Email Service Providers?

Mailchimp. Putler is built for segmentation, not ESPs. Mailchimp adds mature developer surface.

### Is Putler enough on its own?

For segmentation, yes. Putler does not cover marketing automation, product analytics & session replay and retention & churn prevention, and its own profile says so; HubSpot Marketing Hub, Amplitude and Paddle Retain are the tools that fill those gaps.

## Editorial verdict

Putler earns a place in this category for the business the Shopify apps cannot see: one that sells through several gateways, carts, and marketplaces and has never had a single, trustworthy customer list. It merges PayPal, Stripe, WooCommerce, Etsy, Amazon, and the rest into master records, then hands you eleven automatic RFM segments redrawn daily, saved and editable filters, and export to Mailchimp or CSV, for $20 a month under $10,000 in revenue. The limits are just as clear. There is no live audience sync to Klaviyo or the ad platforms, the RFM model cannot be tuned, revenue-based pricing gets expensive for high-ticket sellers, no annual rate is published, there are no refunds, and older help articles leave it unclear whether RFM is on every revenue band. Multi-channel sellers under a few hundred thousand dollars a month should trial it; single-store Shopify brands with a Klaviyo program should start with By the Numbers or Tresl.
