The short answer
Editorial assessmentHeybase compared with Aligned
Aligned is the closest surviving product to what Heybase actually was for its users: a clean, buyer-friendly room with a simple editor, engagement analytics, and a workable free tier, without the enterprise weight of GetAccept or the widget sprawl of Trumpet. It adds what Heybase always lacked, mutual action plans and a maintained roadmap on venture funding. For a solo seller or five-person team that liked Heybase's simplicity and price gravity, Aligned's free plan plus its lower paid tiers is the most direct replacement path, and unlike a lifetime deal it fails loudly (a subscription you cancel) rather than silently (a vendor that stops answering).
Choose Aligned if
Small and mid-sized B2B sales and customer success teams running multi-stakeholder deals over several weeks, who want one shared link per deal, a mutual action plan the buyer will actually use, and visibility into what happens between meetings.
Choose Heybase if
Nobody today. Historically it fit solo founders, consultants, and micro sales teams who wanted a personalized deal microsite with engagement tracking for a one-time price instead of a per-seat subscription, and who could tolerate rough edges in exchange for that price.

|---|---|---|
| Category | Sales Rooms | Sales Rooms |
| Starting price | Free for up to 4 rooms per seat; paid plans from $29 per seat per month billed annually ($35 monthly) (free plan available) | Not purchasable as of August 2026; historically $69 one-time on AppSumo, with third-party listings citing subscriptions from $19 to $29 per month (free plan available) |
| Pricing model | Per-seat subscription with a permanent free plan capped at four rooms per seat. Paid tiers unlock unlimited rooms, the content management system, the AI features, and, at the top, CRM sync and enterprise administration. Annual billing carries roughly an 18 percent discount, and a discounted startup plan is available to companies under 20 employees. | Historically a hybrid: AppSumo lifetime deals ($69 for tier 1, up to $179 for tier 2 and 3 licenses) carried most distribution, alongside a subscription with a 14-day free trial. From at least November 2024 the public pricing page listed four tiers (Essential, Growth, Advance, Enterprise) with no prices shown, all behind Talk to sales. As of August 2026 no pricing page exists at all, the AppSumo deal is marked sold out, and there is no published way to buy the product. |
| Free plan | Up to 4 rooms per seat, room analytics, personal subdomain, and email or password protected sharing | Third-party listings (GetApp) reported a free version existed, but the vendor's own archived pricing page never described one, and no plan of any kind can be signed up for today |
| Free trial | Free plan with no credit card required, which functions as the trial | 14 days on paid plans, per the vendor's own FAQ while the site was live; not currently obtainable |

| Setup time | A first room in under an hour, including account creation, since buyers need no login and templates cover the structure. Standing up a shared content library and an approved template set for a team takes a few days, largely because content uploads are one file at a time. | Not applicable for new buyers, since no signup path exists. Historically, first room live in about 15 minutes by user report, with template setup for a small team taking an afternoon. |
| Learning curve | Low for reps building rooms. The harder part is behavioral: getting the team to build a room for every qualified deal rather than reverting to attachments, and getting the mutual action plan filled in with real buyer-side owners instead of seller-side wishes. | Low. The drag-and-drop editor was the product's best-reviewed quality and required no training; the ceiling was equally low, since there was no admin, governance, or analytics layer to master. |
| Platforms | Web application, Buyer-facing rooms in any browser, no account required, Mobile web, Chrome extension | Web application (app.heybase.io), Mobile-responsive buyer view; third-party catalogs also listed Android and iOS access |
| Compliance | GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, CCPA | |
| Founded | 2021 | 2022 |
| Headquarters | Tel Aviv, Israel | Presented as Austin, Texas in its AppSumo listing, with the founding team based in Pune, India; the company never published a formal HQ page |
| Ownership | Venture-backed, independent | Bootstrapped and independent; no acquisition, funding, or dissolution has been announced |
Strengths and limitations
Aligned
Strengths
- The most adopted digital sales room product in the segment, with a correspondingly mature room builder and a large template library.
- Room analytics are included on the free plan, so the core insight (who read what, and who forwarded it) is available before any spend.
- The mutual action plan is a first-class object rather than a checklist widget, with two-way task ownership that buyers actually use.
- Forwarding detection reliably surfaces stakeholders the seller was never introduced to, which is the clearest concrete return on the tool.
Limitations
- Bidirectional Salesforce and HubSpot sync is Enterprise-only, so teams on published tiers maintain two sources of truth or patch the gap with Zapier.
- Room customization is constrained: limited freedom to match a prospect's branding, and layout choices bounded by the template system.
- Content has to be uploaded file by file; there is no bulk upload, which is a real annoyance when standing up a library for the first time.
- Value scales with deal complexity, and on transactional deals with one decision-maker and a cycle under 30 days the room is overhead.
Heybase
Strengths
- Fast, genuinely easy room building: the drag-and-drop editor and premade blocks were the most consistently praised part of the product across AppSumo (4.2 average over 138 reviews) and G2 (4.6) while it was maintained.
- Magic-link access with unlimited free external collaborators, so buyer-side adoption never depended on signups or per-guest fees.
- Session replays on buyer visits, a level of engagement detail some far more expensive rivals do not expose.
- Video narration built in, covering the asynchronous walkthrough use case without a separate Loom subscription.
Limitations
- The product is effectively dead. Every page of heybase.io returned HTTP 404 when SaaSTracker checked on 31 August 2026, the vendor community's most visible 2025 thread is titled Heybase is closing down, and AppSumo reviews from June 2025 through February 2026 uniformly report vanished support. No official statement exists either way, which is itself the most damning fact.
- No official shutdown, refund, or data-export communication has been published, leaving thousands of lifetime license holders in limbo with content inside app.heybase.io.
- Disclosure was always thin: no published team page beyond the founders, no funding or customer numbers beyond an unverifiable 10k+ users claim, no security certifications, and from late 2024 not even prices.
- Even at its best, the feature set was shallow next to category leaders: no mutual action plans, no native e-signature workflow (contracts were embeds), no HubSpot two-way sync, and CRM integration gated to the upper tiers.

- Free$0
- Basic$29
- Pro$49
- EnterpriseCustom
At $29 to $49 per seat, Aligned sits below most sales enablement software and roughly level with a proposal tool, and for a team running multi-stakeholder deals it is easy to justify on the visibility alone. The free plan is unusually honest, since room analytics is included rather than withheld as the upgrade hook. The awkward part of the price ladder is the jump from Pro to Enterprise: bidirectional CRM sync is the feature most sales leaders assume is table stakes, and putting it behind a quote turns a transparent per-seat purchase into a sales conversation. Judged as a small-business purchase, Free through Pro is buyable with a credit card and worth the money; anything requiring the CRM to stay in step is a different budget.
Heybase
Historically a hybrid: AppSumo lifetime deals ($69 for tier 1, up to $179 for tier 2 and 3 licenses) carried most distribution, alongside a subscription with a 14-day free trial. From at least November 2024 the public pricing page listed four tiers (Essential, Growth, Advance, Enterprise) with no prices shown, all behind Talk to sales. As of August 2026 no pricing page exists at all, the AppSumo deal is marked sold out, and there is no published way to buy the product.
- AppSumo License Tier 1$69 one-time
- AppSumo License Tier 2up to $179 one-time
- AppSumo License Tier 3$179 one-time
- Essential / Growth / Advance / EnterpriseNever published
At $69 to $179 once, Heybase was, for a while, the cheapest real digital sales room you could own, and buyers who closed even one deal with it got their money back. But the ending is the lesson: total cost of ownership on a lifetime deal includes the migration you do when the vendor disappears, and Heybase buyers are now doing that migration with no support and no export tooling. Against that, Trumpet's genuinely free 10-Pod tier or Dock's entry plans cost nothing to start and sit on funded, staffed companies. Capability per dollar is no longer a meaningful question here, because the dollar cannot be spent.
Editorial verdict on each
Aligned
Aligned is the reference implementation of the digital sales room, and for a small B2B team running committee deals it earns its price on visibility alone: knowing that a buyer forwarded your pricing to a finance lead you had never met is worth more than most of what sits in a sales stack. The free plan is honest, the paid tiers are published and modest, and the mutual action plan is built as a genuine shared object rather than a seller's to-do list dressed up for the buyer. Two cautions. Bidirectional CRM sync lives on a quote-only Enterprise tier, so decide early whether you can live with rooms as a second system of record. And the whole model assumes deal complexity; if your cycles are short and your buyers are single, the room is ceremony. Within those bounds it is the safest pick in the category.

Heybase was a real product with a real constituency: solo sellers and micro teams who got a personalized, tracked deal microsite for a one-time $69 to $179 when every alternative wanted $45 or more per seat per month. The editor was quick, buyers needed no account, and session replays gave more visibility than the price had any right to include. But as of August 2026 it cannot be recommended to anyone. The marketing site returns a 404 on every page, support has been silent by consistent user account since mid-2025, the vendor's own forum carries an unanswered thread announcing the closure, and no official statement, refund, or export path exists. New buyers should choose Trumpet, Aligned, Dock, or GetAccept depending on shape and budget. Existing license holders should treat the still-running application as borrowed time: save your content, move your live deals, and take the durable lesson with you, which is that in this category the vendor's staying power is part of the product.
