Customer Segmentation

Customer segmentation tools group an existing customer base into targetable cohorts, using recency, frequency, and monetary behavior, lifetime value, and firmographic similarity, then push those segments into the email, ads, and CRM tools that act on them.

Every marketing tool claims a segment builder, and most of them can only see their own data. The products in this category exist because the interesting segments cut across systems: the customers who bought twice and then went quiet, the cohort whose second order pays back acquisition cost, the accounts that look like the twenty logos actually renewing. Vendors here compete on the depth of the model behind the segment, on how little SQL the operator needs, and on whether a segment can be synced to Klaviyo, Meta, or a CRM before it goes stale.

Profiles are listed in editorial order. Placement cannot be purchased; see our methodology.
