The short answer
Both sides assessedSE Ranking compared with SISTRIX
Sistrix is a European specialist built around the Visibility Index with exceptional historical depth in German, Spanish, and Italian markets, sold as modules. SE Ranking is a broader, cheaper, more operational suite with far better agency tooling. If longitudinal visibility data in continental Europe is your deliverable, Sistrix. If day-to-day client delivery is, SE Ranking.
SISTRIX compared with SE Ranking
SE Ranking is the operational tool: cheaper, broader in day-to-day agency workflow, with white-label client reporting and thirty project slots from about 188 euros. SISTRIX is the analytical instrument, with historical depth and forensic crawling SE Ranking does not attempt. Agencies delivering monthly retainers should run SE Ranking; consultants whose product is diagnosis should pay for SISTRIX.
Choose SE Ranking if
Small and mid-sized SEO agencies, freelancers with multiple clients, and in-house teams of two to six people who need the full range of SEO tooling with white-label reporting and cannot justify Ahrefs or Semrush seat pricing.
Choose SISTRIX if
SEO agencies, consultants, and in-house teams working in European markets, particularly Germany, Spain, and Italy, who need defensible long-run visibility data, forensic onpage crawling, and serious AI answer tracking, and who can justify 119 to 419 euros per month.

| Best for | Small and mid-sized SEO agencies, freelancers with multiple clients, and in-house teams of two to six people who need the full range of SEO tooling with white-label reporting and cannot justify Ahrefs or Semrush seat pricing. | SEO agencies, consultants, and in-house teams working in European markets, particularly Germany, Spain, and Italy, who need defensible long-run visibility data, forensic onpage crawling, and serious AI answer tracking, and who can justify 119 to 419 euros per month. |
| Setup time | Under an hour per project. Add the domain, choose search engines, countries, devices, and locations, import keywords, connect Google Analytics and Search Console, and start the first audit crawl. Agencies onboarding a full client book should budget a day and use the free annual migration. | Visibility lookups work immediately with no setup at all, which is unusual and is the fastest way to demonstrate value on day one. Onpage projects take about half an hour each to configure, and a large crawl runs for hours afterwards. |
| Learning curve | Moderate. The tool is broad but the navigation is organised by job rather than by dataset, so a competent marketer is productive in a couple of days. The report builder is the part worth investing an afternoon in, since it is what clients see every month. | Moderate to steep. The interface is dense, the module structure assumes you know which tool you want, and the Visibility Index needs explaining before anyone trusts it. The 2026 navigation redesign with a single tool dropdown and star-bookmarked favourites addresses this directly. |

Strengths and limitations
SE Ranking
Strengths
- The friendliest seat economics of any full SEO suite: three seats included on Growth and extras from about 14.40 euros, against $40 to $80 at Ahrefs.
- Genuinely granular rank tracking with daily checks, separate desktop and mobile, and location targeting down to postal code, at a price where most competitors offer country-level only.
- White-label reporting, client portal access, and 10 to 30 project slots make it a complete agency platform rather than a research tool with reports bolted on.
- Generous audit crawl allowances at 250,000 and 2 million pages per month relative to the price.
Limitations
- The backlink index and keyword database are respectable but not the reference datasets; for high-stakes competitive analysis practitioners still cross-check against Ahrefs.
- AI search visibility costs an extra 63.20 to 79 euros per month, so the tool that is cheapest on seats is not cheapest once AI tracking is included.
- Euro pricing exposes US and UK buyers to currency movement on a subscription they budget in dollars or pounds.
- The entry price near 87 to 109 euros is well above Moz Starter, Mangools, or Ubersuggest, and much of what it buys is agency machinery a solo site owner will never open.
SISTRIX
Strengths
- The Visibility Index is the longest methodologically stable public SEO dataset in existence, with up to 13 years of weekly history across more than 40 countries.
- Unmatched depth in continental European markets, particularly German, Spanish, and Italian, where US-centric tools are noticeably thinner.
- The AI and Chatbots module is a real product: four AI surfaces, daily prompt monitoring, sentiment analysis, and an AI-specific visibility index with history.
- Keeping AI visibility separate from the classic Visibility Index rather than blending them is the methodologically correct choice, and a rare instance of a vendor resisting a simpler but misleading number.
Limitations
- The 119 euro entry price with only three months of data history withholds the single feature SISTRIX is famous for, which makes START poor value.
- Expensive relative to the small-business market; the useful plans start at 239 euros and the full archive costs 419 euros per month.
- Coverage and community are concentrated in Europe, so US-only teams get less differentiated value than the price implies.
- The Visibility Index is a comparable score rather than a traffic estimate, which is correct but requires explaining to every stakeholder who wants a revenue number.

SE Ranking is the best answer in this category to the question small agencies actually ask, which is not who has the biggest index but how many people and clients can I cover for a defensible monthly figure. Growth at 188 euros gives you 30 projects, 5,000 daily-tracked keywords, three seats, and white-label client reporting; the closest equivalent at Semrush is Pro+ at $299 plus $45 per extra user, and at Ahrefs it is Standard at $249 plus $60 per seat. The compromise is depth rather than breadth: the backlink index and keyword database are good, not definitive, and the AI Search Toolkit is a separate 63 to 79 euro line rather than bundled. If your work is delivering consistent SEO to multiple small clients, this is the correct purchase. If your work is winning arguments about competitive link data, it is not.

- PLUS239 EUR
- PROFESSIONAL419 EUR
- PREMIUM799 EUR
SISTRIX is expensive and mostly worth it for the specific buyer it is built for. What you are actually purchasing is thirteen years of methodologically stable visibility history across more than 40 countries, plus a crawler that is genuinely forensic at the higher tiers and an AI visibility module that treats the problem seriously rather than bundling twenty prompts as a marketing checkbox. Set against Ahrefs Advanced at $449 plus $80 per seat plus $199 to $699 for Brand Radar, PROFESSIONAL at 419 euros with the API included and users at 24.90 euros is not obviously bad value. The problem is the entry point: START at 119 euros with three months of history sells you the interface without the asset, and if you do not work in European markets you are paying a premium for depth you will never use. Price PLUS or PROFESSIONAL, or do not buy SISTRIX at all.
Editorial verdict on each
SE Ranking
SE Ranking is the most sensible full SEO platform a small agency can buy in 2026. It gets the arithmetic right where the market leaders get it wrong: three seats included on Growth with extras at about 14.40 euros, thirty project slots, daily postal-code-level rank tracking, two million audit pages a month, white-label reporting with client portals, a 14-day working trial, and free data migration if you commit annually. It is not the deepest dataset in the category and it does not pretend to be, and the AI Search Toolkit is a separate 63 to 79 euro line rather than a bundled feature, which blunts the price advantage if AI visibility is your main reason to buy. But for the specific job of delivering consistent SEO work to a book of small clients with more than one person doing it, nothing else at this price is close.

SISTRIX is a specialist instrument sold at a specialist price, and it is excellent if you are the specialist. Nothing else offers thirteen years of methodologically stable weekly visibility data across more than 40 countries, and in European markets that archive is the evidence practitioners actually argue from. The 2026 product is also stronger than its reputation suggests: a genuinely forensic crawler with canonical-to-404 detection and live crawl logs, an AI module doing daily prompt monitoring with sentiment across four surfaces, an API included from PROFESSIONAL rather than sold separately, and month-to-month cancellation throughout. Two warnings. START at 119 euros gives you three months of history, which withholds the very thing you came for. And if your market is the United States, you are paying a European premium for depth you will not use. Buy PLUS or PROFESSIONAL, in Europe, or buy something else.
