The short answer

Both sides assessed

Skysnag compared with URIports

Different instruments. URIports is broad infrastructure monitoring priced remarkably low, from $15 a year for a personal plan and $6 a month for five domains and 100,000 reports, covering DMARC alongside CSP, certificate, and DNS monitoring. Skysnag is narrow and active: it does email authentication only, and it changes your records rather than reporting on them. A technical team that wants visibility across its whole web and mail estate should take URIports; a team that wants the authentication problem taken away should take Skysnag and accept the price.

URIports compared with Skysnag

Different instruments for different jobs. URIports is broad, remarkably cheap infrastructure monitoring: from $15 a year for a personal plan and $6 a month for five domains and 100,000 reports, covering DMARC alongside CSP, certificate, and DNS monitoring. Skysnag does email authentication only, and it acts rather than observes, writing and maintaining records to drive a domain to enforcement. A technical team wanting visibility across its whole estate should take URIports; a team wanting the authentication problem handled should take Skysnag and accept the higher price.

Choose Skysnag if

Small and mid-sized organisations that need to reach DMARC enforcement rather than merely watch reports, especially those with many sending services, limited DNS expertise, or a customer, insurer, or auditor asking for evidence.

Choose URIports if

Technical operators, sysadmins, and agencies monitoring authentication across many domains on a small budget, particularly those who also own the websites and want CSP, DNS, and certificate monitoring in the same console.

Setup timeAn afternoon to point reporting at Skysnag and start ingesting, then two to six weeks of running before a domain is ready to move to enforcement. The calendar is set by how long it takes to see every legitimate sender in the report stream, not by the software.Fifteen to thirty minutes to add domains and publish reporting records, and about the same again to point CSP and TLS-RPT at it if you want the wider coverage. Reaching p=reject still takes weeks of calendar time regardless of the tool.
Learning curveLow by the standards of DMARC tooling, which is the point of the product. The dashboards are aimed at non-specialists, and the automation removes most of the DNS knowledge the category normally demands.High relative to the guided competitors, and that is the deliberate trade for the price. URIports assumes you understand SPF alignment, DKIM selectors, and CSP directives, and will not walk you through any of them.

Strengths and limitations

Skysnag

Strengths

  • Automates the hard half of DMARC: discovering senders and maintaining the records, rather than only charting the reports.
  • Handles SPF maintenance automatically, which addresses the ten-lookup limit that quietly breaks hand-edited records.
  • The full protocol set in one product: DMARC, SPF, DKIM, BIMI, MTA-STS, and TLS-RPT.
  • An unusually complete compliance posture for a small vendor, including SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, IASME, PCI-DSS, and the Data Privacy Framework.

Limitations

  • No free tier, in a category where dmarcian, EasyDMARC, and PowerDMARC all offer one for a single domain.
  • Monitor includes only two domains, which is tight for any organisation holding several brand or regional domains.
  • The step from $39 to $249 is the steepest in the category, and buys processing speed and retention rather than more automation.
  • Automated DNS editing is the product's premise, and some infrastructure teams will not delegate record control to a vendor on principle.

URIports

Strengths

  • By far the cheapest published per-domain pricing in the category: five domains for $6 a month, twenty-five for $30, a hundred for $120.
  • A published add-on domain price of $12 per pack of ten, where most competitors in this field refuse to quote per-domain costs at all.
  • Genuine breadth: DMARC, SMTP TLS reporting, hosted MTA-STS, DANE, DNS monitoring, certificate expiry, CSP, Reporting API, and Network Error Logging in one console.
  • Hosted MTA-STS policy serving removes the main practical obstacle to deploying MTA-STS at a small organization.

Limitations

  • Very little guided remediation; URIports tells you accurately what is wrong and largely leaves the fixing to you, which will strand a first-time deployer.
  • Retention is short at thirty days on the lower tiers and ninety on the higher ones, against a year on comparable PowerDMARC and DMARCLY plans.
  • Report volume is pooled across DMARC, TLS, and browser report types, so heavy CSP use eats into the same allowance as email reporting.
  • No hosted SPF, DKIM, or DMARC record management, so SPF lookup overflow has to be fixed by hand rather than delegated as it can be with PowerDMARC or DMARCLY Safe SPF.

  • MonitorFrom $39
  • ComplyFrom $249
  • ProtectCustom
  • Skysnag SuiteCustom

Against the reporting-only tools in this category, Skysnag is expensive: EasyDMARC, PowerDMARC, and dmarcian all have free tiers and paid plans well under $39 that will show you the same aggregate reports. Against the cost of actually reaching enforcement, it is cheap. The work Skysnag automates, inventorying senders and maintaining records until the policy can safely move to reject, is the part that otherwise consumes weeks of an engineer's attention or never gets finished at all, and a domain stuck at p=none is providing visibility rather than protection. The compliance set is a genuine secondary argument for a small business facing security questionnaires. The weak point is the plan structure: two domains on Monitor is tight, and the leap to $249 arrives sooner than the feature list suggests.

URIports

Flat-rate subscription tiered by number of domains, monthly report volume, and retention length, with add-on domain packs and a personal-use plan.

  • Sand$1.25
  • Pebble$6
  • Stone$30
  • Mountain$120
  • Himalaya$480

On price per monitored domain, URIports is not merely the cheapest option in this category, it is cheaper by an order of magnitude. Twenty-five domains for $30 a month against dmarcian's fifteen for $600 is the kind of gap that demands an explanation, and the explanation is guidance: URIports gives you accurate reports and alerts, not a curriculum. Add the CSP, DNS, and certificate monitoring, which would otherwise be separate subscriptions, and a technical team that owns both mail and websites is getting several tools for the price of one. The two real costs are short retention and the absence of hand-holding. If you have the skills, this is the best value in the category by a wide margin.

Editorial verdict on each

Skysnag

Skysnag is the right purchase when your DMARC problem is that nothing is happening. Plenty of tools will show you aggregate reports, several of them free, and a domain can sit at p=none for years being thoroughly monitored and entirely unprotected. What Skysnag sells is the part in between: it finds the senders, writes the records, keeps them current, and moves the policy to enforcement without anyone filing DNS change requests. For a small business that has been asked to prove its domain is protected, the $39 Monitor tier plus a compliance set most vendors this size cannot match is a short, cheap route to yes, and the published nonprofit and startup discounts make it shorter. Two things should push you elsewhere. If you have DNS expertise and time, PowerDMARC at $12 for five domains or OnDMARC Express at $9 for four give you more domain coverage for less money. And if your estate is large enough to need Comply, the jump from $39 to $249 deserves a hard look at what real-time processing and five-year retention are actually worth to you.

URIports

URIports is the best value in this category if you have the technical competence to use it. Five domains for $6 a month and twenty-five for $30 is not a small discount against dmarcian or EasyDMARC, it is a different order of magnitude, and the breadth is real: DMARC, TLS reporting, hosted MTA-STS, DANE, DNS and certificate monitoring, and browser-side CSP collection in one console for less than the cost of a single competing subscription. The trade is explicit. Retention is short, there is no record hosting beyond MTA-STS, and there is essentially no guided remediation, so a small business owner encountering DMARC for the first time will stall where a more expensive tool would have carried them. Buy it if you are an engineer or an agency watching many domains. Buy something friendlier if this is your first DMARC deployment, and in either case do not expect it to say anything about inbox placement.
