SEO PowerSuite
Four desktop SEO tools with no usage meters, for one annual licence
SEO PowerSuite is a bundle of four desktop SEO applications from Link-Assistant.Com: Rank Tracker for rankings and keyword research, WebSite Auditor for technical and on-page audits, SEO SpyGlass for backlink analysis, and LinkAssistant for link-building outreach. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, has a free edition with no time limit, and sells paid editions as annual licences from $349 a year with unlimited projects, keywords, crawling and backlinks.
Overview
SEO PowerSuite is the oldest serious alternative to the cloud SEO platforms, and its whole proposition comes from one architectural decision: the software runs on your computer. Aleh Barysevich and Viktar Khamianok built LinkAssistant in 2004, added Rank Tracker in 2005, SEO SpyGlass in 2006 and WebSite Auditor in 2008, and sold the four together as SEO PowerSuite from 2009. The company, Link-Assistant.Com, now has a team of more than 50 and gives its address as Nicosia, Cyprus. It reported passing two million users in 2016.
Because the crawling and rank checks happen on your own machine, the paid editions do not meter usage the way cloud suites do. Professional and Enterprise include unlimited projects, unlimited tracked keywords, unlimited site crawling and unlimited backlink lookups, drawing on the vendor's own index of about 6.5 trillion backlinks and 216 million keywords. The constraint moves from your invoice to your hardware and your patience: a large crawl ties up the machine, and rank checks run when the application is open or scheduled.
The four tools divide the job cleanly. Rank Tracker checks positions across more than 550 search engines, now including Google AI Overviews, and carries the keyword research tools. WebSite Auditor crawls a site for technical issues and includes a content editor that scores pages against the top-ranking competitors. SEO SpyGlass analyses backlink profiles and penalty risk. LinkAssistant finds link prospects and manages outreach. Each is also sold on its own, from $129 to $179 a year at Professional level.
The pricing is the reason a small business should look. The free edition never expires, crawls 500 URLs and lets you run rank checks, but cannot save projects. Professional is $349 a year, or $19.95 a month equivalent on a three-year term, and Enterprise is $599 a year with white-label reports, scheduled report delivery and 40 competitors per project. There is no monthly plan and no refund for unused time, so the free edition is the real evaluation.
Best for
Freelance SEOs, small agencies and in-house marketers who want rank tracking, site auditing and backlink research without usage meters, and who are comfortable running desktop software in exchange for a flat annual price.
Not the right fit for
- Teams that expect browser-based software anyone can open from any device; this is four desktop applications, and sharing works through cloud project sync rather than a shared web workspace.
- Anyone who wants to pay monthly or get a refund after buying; paid editions are billed annually or for two or three years up front, and the vendor does not refund unused time.
- Buyers whose main question is visibility in ChatGPT or Perplexity answers; Rank Tracker covers Google AI Overviews, but there is no prompt-level tracking across AI assistants.
- Users on underpowered laptops who need to crawl large sites; the crawl runs on your hardware and large audits tie the machine up.
- Agencies that need branded client reports on a budget; white-label reporting starts on the $599 Enterprise edition.
How it works
- 1
You download the suite and install four separate desktop applications. Each opens a project per website, stores its data locally, and can sync projects to the vendor's cloud storage so a second machine or a colleague can open them.
- 2
Rank Tracker takes a keyword list and a set of search engines and locations, then checks positions on demand or on a schedule while the computer is running. Results build a history from the first check, and paid editions keep a year of historical data.
- 3
WebSite Auditor crawls the site from your machine with no page cap on paid editions, then reports technical issues, page-level optimisation scores and a content editor that compares a page against the pages currently ranking for its keyword.
- 4
SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant read from the vendor's backlink index: one to audit a backlink profile or a competitor's, the other to turn prospects into an outreach list with email templates and status tracking.
Feature breakdown
20 features in 4 modulesRank Tracker: positions and keywords
The most-used tool in the suite and the reason most people buy it.- Unlimited tracked keywords
- Paid editions track as many keywords as you like across any number of projects, which is the single biggest difference from cloud trackers that price by keyword count.
- 550-plus search engines
- Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, Amazon and regional engines, with location targeting down to city level.
- Google AI Overviews tracking
- Records whether an AI Overview appears for a tracked keyword and whether your site is cited in it, added to every edition including the free one.
- SERP feature tracking
- Tracks featured snippets, local packs, People Also Ask and other result features, so a ranking change is read in context.
- Keyword research toolkit
- More than 20 keyword research methods, including competitor keywords, autocomplete and question mining, drawing on a database of about 216 million keywords.
- Keyword grouping
- Clusters a keyword list by SERP overlap so one page targets one group rather than several pages competing for the same intent.
- One year of history
- Paid editions keep twelve months of ranking history per keyword, added in 2024.
WebSite Auditor: technical and on-page
A full crawler with no page cap on paid editions.- Unlimited site crawling
- Paid editions crawl whole sites with no URL limit; the free edition stops at 500 URLs.
- Technical issue reports
- Broken links, redirect chains, duplicate content, indexing directives, canonical problems and page speed data through the PageSpeed API with Core Web Vitals.
- Content editor with TF-IDF
- Scores a page against the top-ranking pages for its keyword and suggests terms and length, which covers a good share of what standalone content optimisers sell.
- Sitemap and robots.txt generation
- Builds XML sitemaps and robots.txt files from the crawl, with a visual map of the site's link structure.
SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant: links
Backlink research and outreach in the same suite.- Backlink index of about 6.5 trillion links
- The vendor's own index, used for backlink profiles, competitor comparisons and link history, with unlimited lookups on paid editions.
- Penalty risk scoring
- Flags links that look manipulative and generates a disavow file, which matters most for sites that bought links in the past.
- Domain comparison
- Compares backlink profiles side by side, 6 sites at Professional level and 11 at Enterprise in the standalone SEO SpyGlass licence.
- Link prospecting and outreach
- LinkAssistant finds link opportunities by method, collects contact details and manages outreach emails and their status in one list.
Reporting, editions and terms
Where the editions actually differ.- White-label reports on Enterprise
- Enterprise adds branded PDF and HTML reports, custom templates, scheduled delivery by email and one-click sharing; Professional reports carry a watermark when printed.
- Competitors per project
- 5 on Professional and 40 on Enterprise, against 1 on the free edition.
- Data export
- Enterprise exports to CSV, SQL and HTML, which matters for anyone feeding the data into their own reporting.
- Cloud project storage
- Projects and reports sync to the vendor's cloud so they can be opened on another machine, with larger allowances on paid editions.
- Free edition with no time limit
- All four tools run free forever with caps: one project that cannot be saved, 500 crawled URLs, 1,100 backlinks and one competitor.
Use cases
4 documentedFreelance SEO with a dozen client sites
Cloud rank trackers price by keyword, and tracking 300 keywords for each of twelve clients pushes every option into the hundreds of dollars a month.
Professional at $349 a year tracks every keyword for every client with no meter, and the money saved pays for a separate reporting tool if clients need branded output.
Small business owner fixing their own site
Wants to know what is technically wrong with a 300-page site without committing to a subscription.
The free edition of WebSite Auditor crawls up to 500 URLs and reports the issues, and the content editor shows what the pages ranking above them do differently.
Small agency producing monthly client reports
Needs rankings, audits and backlink changes in one branded report each month, sent automatically.
Enterprise at $599 a year schedules white-label reports from all four tools, which costs less per year than one month of several cloud suites at agency level.
Site recovering from a links penalty
A previous agency bought links, rankings dropped, and nobody knows which links are the problem.
SEO SpyGlass scores every backlink for penalty risk and writes the disavow file, while Rank Tracker shows whether rankings recover after it is submitted.
Pricing

Add-ons
- Rank Tracker alone ($179 a year Professional, $419 Enterprise): For buyers who only need rank tracking.
- WebSite Auditor alone ($149 a year Professional, $359 Enterprise): Unlimited crawling at Professional level.
- SEO SpyGlass alone ($129 a year Professional, $259 Enterprise): Unlimited backlinks; 6 or 11 sites for profile comparison.
- LinkAssistant alone ($129 a year Professional, $259 Enterprise): Unlimited link prospects.
Billing notes
- There is no monthly plan. The monthly figures on the pricing page are equivalents of one-, two- and three-year licences paid up front.
- The vendor states it does not refund partial use or the time left on a subscription, so test on the free edition before paying.
- Multi-year terms cut the effective price sharply: Professional falls from $29.10 a month on one year to $19.95 on three.
- Usage is unmetered on paid editions, so cost does not grow with keywords, pages or projects. Your hardware and the time a large crawl takes are the practical limits.
- Buying the four tools separately at Professional level costs $586 a year, so the $349 bundle is the obvious purchase unless you need only one tool.
Value assessment: SEO PowerSuite is the cheapest way to get unmetered rank tracking, a full-site crawler and a large backlink index in one purchase, and for a freelancer tracking thousands of keywords the arithmetic is not close: $349 a year against cloud trackers that charge that much in two or three months at the same volume. What you give up is the convenience of a browser tool, a shared web workspace and any refund once you have paid. The data is credible rather than best in class, and the interface shows its age. For a buyer who works from one machine and prices by the year, it is excellent value; for a team that lives in the browser and wants to pay monthly, it is the wrong shape.

Strengths & limitations
Strengths
- Unlimited keywords, projects, crawling and backlinks on paid editions, so cost does not rise as a client list grows.
- A permanent free edition of all four tools that is genuinely useful for a one-off audit of a small site.
- Rank tracking across more than 550 search engines with Google AI Overviews citation tracking included.
- A full crawler, a backlink index of about 6.5 trillion links and an outreach manager in one licence, which normally means three vendors.
- Multi-year licences bring Professional down to $19.95 a month equivalent.
- Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, with project data kept locally.
Limitations
- Desktop software: crawls and rank checks need the machine running, and large sites tie it up.
- No monthly billing and no refunds for unused time, so the commitment is a year at minimum.
- White-label and scheduled reports start at $599 on Enterprise; Professional reports are watermarked when printed.
- No prompt-level tracking of ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini answers, only Google AI Overviews.
- The interface is dense and dated next to Mangools or SE Ranking, and four separate applications are more to learn than one web app.
- Collaboration works through cloud project sync, not a live shared workspace with user roles.

Buy Screaming Frog if crawling is the job; buy SEO PowerSuite if you would otherwise pay separately for rank tracking and links.

SEO PowerSuite costs $349 a year with no meters at all, at the price of desktop software and a smaller reputation for data quality. If clients pay for Ahrefs-grade numbers, buy Ahrefs; if you need volume on a small budget, SEO PowerSuite does far more per dollar.
Full SEO PowerSuite vs Ahrefs comparisonSEO PowerSuite vs Mangools

Full SEO PowerSuite stackImplementation & onboarding
- Setup time
- About half an hour to download and install the four applications and create a first project. A full crawl of a mid-sized site takes anywhere from minutes to hours depending on the machine and connection.
- Learning curve
- Moderate. Each tool is straightforward on its own, but four dense desktop interfaces take longer to learn than a single web app, and the settings run deep.
- Onboarding
- Self-serve with documentation, video tutorials and the free edition as a sandbox. Max+ adds personalised onboarding and a dedicated success manager.
- Migration notes
- Keyword lists import from CSV, and ranking history starts with the first check, so run the old tracker in parallel for a few weeks if continuity matters. Moving away later is simple because the data sits locally and exports to CSV on Enterprise.
Platform, API & security
- Platforms
- Windows desktopmacOS desktopLinux desktopCloud project sync
- API
- No public data API is advertised. Data leaves through reports and, on Enterprise, CSV, SQL and HTML exports.
- Compliance
- GDPR
- Data residency
- Project data is stored locally on your machine; optional cloud sync stores projects on the vendor's servers. No regional hosting choice is advertised.
- SSO
- Not offered.
- Security notes
- Because crawls and rank checks run locally, little customer data reaches the vendor beyond licence details and any projects you choose to sync. Formal security documentation is light, which matters only to buyers with a vendor review process.

Frequently asked questions
12 questionsWhat is SEO PowerSuite?
SEO PowerSuite is a bundle of four desktop SEO applications: Rank Tracker for rankings and keyword research, WebSite Auditor for technical and on-page audits, SEO SpyGlass for backlink analysis, and LinkAssistant for link-building outreach. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and is sold as annual licences with a free edition that never expires.
How much does SEO PowerSuite cost?
The free edition costs nothing. Professional is $349 a year, $558 for two years or $717 for three. Enterprise is $599 a year, $1,118 for two or $1,377 for three. Max+ is $899 a year. There is no monthly plan; the monthly figures on the pricing page are equivalents of those up-front terms.
Is SEO PowerSuite really unlimited?
On paid editions, yes for projects, tracked keywords, site crawling and backlink lookups. The practical limits are your computer, since crawls and rank checks run locally, and the number of competitors per project: 5 on Professional and 40 on Enterprise.
What can the free edition do?
All four tools work with caps: one project that cannot be saved, rank checks without saved history, 500 crawled URLs, 1,100 backlinks and one competitor. That is enough for a one-off audit of a small site but not for ongoing tracking.
Does SEO PowerSuite offer refunds?
The vendor states it does not refund partial use or the time remaining on a subscription. Use the free edition to test the tools on your own site before buying a licence.
Does SEO PowerSuite track AI search?
It tracks Google AI Overviews: whether one appears for a keyword and whether your site is cited. It does not track prompts in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini, so a dedicated tool such as Otterly.AI or Peec AI is still needed for that.
Can a team share SEO PowerSuite?
Licences are per user, and projects sync through the vendor's cloud storage so colleagues can open them on their own machines. There is no live shared web workspace with roles, which is the main collaboration gap against cloud suites.
Does SEO PowerSuite produce client reports?
Every edition produces reports in the application. Professional reports carry a watermark when printed; Enterprise adds white-label PDF and HTML reports, custom templates and scheduled delivery by email.
Is SEO PowerSuite a good alternative to Ahrefs or Semrush?
For volume on a budget, yes: unlimited keywords and crawling for $349 a year is far below what cloud suites charge at the same scale. Its backlink and keyword data carry less weight with clients, and the desktop model suits one person on one machine better than a team in a browser.
What should I pair SEO PowerSuite with?
SEO PowerSuite is a SEO tool, and a team running it still has 7 neighbouring categories to staff. The pick in each is Rytr for AI writing & content generation, Carrd for landing page builders, Localo for local SEO & listings, Umami for GTM analytics, Metricool for social media management, Tally for forms & surveys and Hello Bar for lead capture & popups, each the leading tool in that category on published criteria.
What do I pair with SEO PowerSuite for AI Writing & Content Generation?
Rytr. SEO PowerSuite lists no prompt-level tracking of ChatGPT among its limits. Rytr adds a genuinely usable free tier at 10,000 characters a month with all.
Is SEO PowerSuite enough on its own?
For SEO, yes. SEO PowerSuite does not cover landing page builders, local SEO & listings and GTM analytics, and its own profile says so; Carrd, Localo and Umami are the tools that fill those gaps.
Editorial verdict
SEO PowerSuite is the right purchase for a freelancer or small agency that tracks a lot of keywords, audits whole sites and prices tools by the year. It is unmetered where every cloud competitor meters something, it covers rankings, crawling, backlinks and outreach in one $349 licence, and its free edition is useful in its own right. The trade is real: desktop software that ties up your machine, four interfaces to learn, no monthly option, no refunds, and branded reports only at $599. Test the free edition on your own site first. If the desktop model fits how you work, nothing else in the category gives you this much capacity for the money.
