The short answer

Both sides assessed

Demio compared with eWebinar

eWebinar cannot run a live webinar at all; it is a dedicated evergreen automation platform priced per active webinar with unlimited attendees, starting at 99 dollars a month. Demio does live and automated in one tool with an attendee cap. If your program is genuinely evergreen, eWebinar's unlimited-attendee model and twenty-five interaction types beat Demio's automated mode outright. If you need to run live sessions too, Demio is one tool instead of two.

eWebinar compared with Demio

Demio runs live and automated events in one platform with an attendee cap you buy in advance; eWebinar runs only automated events with no cap at all. If evergreen is genuinely your whole strategy, eWebinar's unlimited attendees and far deeper interaction library beat Demio's automated mode for less money. If you need live sessions as well, Demio is one tool instead of two, and its 150-attendee Growth tier is a reasonable place to start.

Choose Demio if

Small and mid-size marketing, sales enablement, and customer success teams who run a regular cadence of live and automated webinars, want a predictable per-host monthly bill with a room size they can plan around, and value a clean no-download attendee experience over broadcast production control.

Choose eWebinar if

Small SaaS companies, agencies, and course businesses whose demo, onboarding walkthrough, or training session is substantially the same every time, who want it available around the clock without anyone presenting, and who would rather pay per active webinar with unlimited attendees than per seat with an attendee cap.

Setup timeAbout an hour for a first live event: create the event, upload slides, restyle the registration page, set the reminder schedule, and connect your CRM. An automated event takes longer because you have to script where the polls and featured actions fire against the recording timeline. The vendor claims under twenty minutes to launch a first webinar without instruction, and that is broadly credible if you already have a recording. Scripting interactions properly along the timeline is the part that takes real thought and is worth a couple of hours.
Learning curveLow for hosts. The room is deliberately simple and most presenters need one dry run. The parts that take real work are timing featured actions against an automated recording and configuring the CRM field mapping so registration data lands usefully.Low. There is no live-presenting skill to acquire because there is no live presenting. The genuine learning is editorial: deciding where the interactions go, what the conditional branches should be, and how the chat rota works.

Strengths and limitations

Demio

Strengths

  • The best-executed no-download webinar room for small teams, with pre-uploaded slides and video that keep quality independent of the presenter's connection.
  • Genuinely transparent pricing with the attendee cap stated plainly, which is rare in a category full of quote-gated vendors.
  • Live, automated, on-demand, and series events all in one product, so the same asset works as a live launch and then as an evergreen funnel.
  • Featured actions with per-attendee click tracking turn a webinar into a measurable revenue event rather than a brand exercise.

Limitations

  • Automation is paywalled above Starter, making the advertised 45-dollar entry price unrepresentative of what most buyers will pay.
  • The attendee cap is hard: exceed it and registrants are locked out mid-session, with no overage mechanism.
  • Session length caps of three hours on Starter and eight on Growth rule out full-day formats without moving to Premium.
  • No production studio features: no scene composition, no custom overlays beyond branding, no multi-camera, no high-bitrate local recording.

eWebinar

Strengths

  • Unlimited attendees, sessions, registrations, and moderators on every plan, which is unique in a category built on audience metering.
  • Just-in-time scheduling collapses the gap between interest and attendance to a few minutes, which is the single biggest driver of evergreen funnel performance.
  • The chat and moderation design is the most honest in the category: real-time alerts to Slack, unlimited moderators, auto-responses out of hours, and follow-up emails for anything unanswered.
  • More than twenty-five interaction types with conditional logic gives an evergreen session more depth than most live ones have.

Limitations

  • No live webinar capability whatsoever. This is by design, but it means most companies need eWebinar plus something else rather than eWebinar alone.
  • No streaming or simulcast to YouTube, LinkedIn, or RTMP endpoints; the product plays a file to registrants and does nothing broadcast-shaped.
  • Pricing scales on active webinars, so a large and varied library of evergreen sessions is comparatively expensive against attendee-metered rivals.
  • The company is very small (roughly 750,000 dollars ARR on a tiny team), so there is real concentration risk and limited capacity for bespoke work.

Pricing compared

Demio

Per-host subscription with an attendee cap you select. The cap, not usage, is the primary price driver; event admin seats are separate from and cheaper than host licences.

  • Starter$45 (annual) or $63 (monthly)
  • GrowthFrom about $75 per host (annual), around $99 monthly, rising with the cap
  • Premium$196 per host

Demio at Growth with a 150-attendee cap is the most sensible default purchase in this category for a small marketing team, and roughly 75 dollars per host per month for live plus automated plus on-demand plus real CRM sync is fair. The pricing is transparent, the cap is a number you can plan a budget around, and the room quality is genuinely better than most competitors at any price. Two things dent the value. First, the 45-dollar Starter tier is a lure rather than a plan, because it excludes the automation that most buyers came for. Second, the cap-based model punishes success: a session that draws six hundred people on a 500 cap turns away a hundred registrants who had already given you their email address. Judged on what you get at Growth, Demio is solid value; judged on the advertised entry price, it is misleading.

eWebinar

Subscription priced by the number of simultaneously active webinars. Attendees, sessions, moderators, and registrations are unlimited on every level.

  • Level 1$99
  • Level 2$199
  • Level 3$299

For its single intended job, eWebinar has the best economics in the category and it is not close. A business whose entire funnel is one demo pays 99 dollars a month and can put ten thousand people through it without paying a cent more, while a comparable Demio or Livestorm configuration would cost several times that at the same volume. The unlimited moderator policy compounds the advantage because moderation is naturally a rota rather than a seat. The value collapses in exactly one scenario: a large library of distinct one-off sessions, where per-active-webinar pricing works against you and an attendee-metered platform wins. And of course it does nothing live, so if you also need live webinars you are paying for two products. Judged as a dedicated evergreen engine, it is the cheapest capable option available and the interaction depth justifies the price on its own.

Editorial verdict on each

Demio

Demio is the safest default recommendation in this category for a small marketing team, provided you budget for Growth rather than the advertised 45-dollar Starter price. The room is the best-executed no-download experience at this end of the market, the pricing is honest about what a seat and a cap cost, and the marketing-automation connectors are deeper than anything else nearby. Buy it if you run a regular webinar cadence, want live and evergreen in one tool, and need engagement data flowing into HubSpot or Marketo without manual work. Approach with open eyes on two points: the attendee cap is a hard wall that penalizes an unexpectedly successful session, and the parent company is a financially stretched small-cap public business, which is worth weighing before you prepay a multi-year term.

eWebinar

eWebinar is the best automated webinar product on the market and the only one that treats automation as a design problem rather than a checkbox. Just-in-time scheduling, twenty-five-plus interactions with conditional logic, unlimited attendees on every plan, and a chat model that is honest with the attendee add up to an evergreen session that performs better than most companies' live ones. Buy it if you have one repeated session, a demo, an onboarding walkthrough, a training module, and you want it running around the clock for 99 dollars a month regardless of volume. Do not buy it as your only webinar tool, because it cannot do live, and be clear-eyed that this is a tiny bootstrapped company with no SOC 2 and no enterprise apparatus behind it.
