Re:amaze

GoDaddy's ecommerce help desk: email, chat, social, SMS and voice in one inbox, priced per seat with a flat-rate escape hatch

Re:amaze is a multichannel help desk and live chat platform for online stores and small software companies, owned by GoDaddy since 2021. It puts email, live chat, Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp, SMS and voice into one shared inbox, adds chatbots, a public FAQ centre, a status page and push campaigns, and connects to Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce so agents see orders beside the conversation. It is sold per team member from $29 a month, or $59 a month flat for unlimited users on the 500-conversation Starter plan, with an AI agent that includes a monthly resolution allowance per seat and charges $0.85 beyond it.

Overview

Re:amaze was founded in 2012 in San Jose, California, by Lu Wang, David Feng and Heng Woon Ong, and spent most of its life as one of the default help desks in the Shopify app store. GoDaddy bought it in April 2021 to give its small business customers a support and messaging layer, and the product now carries the 'Re:amaze by GoDaddy' name while keeping its own pricing, brand and roadmap. That ownership is the first thing to understand: the vendor risk is a public company's portfolio decision rather than a startup's runway.

The product is a shared inbox in the Help Scout mould, widened to cover the channels a direct-to-consumer brand actually receives. Email, the live chat widget, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, X, WhatsApp, SMS and voice arrive in one queue; agents see the customer's order history from Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce beside the thread; and a self-service FAQ centre, a status page, proactive 'cues' and push notification campaigns sit around it. Pro and Plus add multi-brand management, so an operator running three storefronts can run them from one account.

Pricing is per team member and unusually legible. Basic is $29, Pro $49 and Plus $69 a month, with a modest 10 percent discount for annual billing that brings them to $26.10, $44.10 and $62.10. The interesting plan is the one most comparison sites skip: Starter, at $59 a month flat for unlimited team members with every Basic feature, capped at 500 responded conversations a month. For a store with a rotating cast of part-time helpers and modest volume, that is cheaper than almost anything per-seat in this category.

AI is metered, but more gently than at most competitors. Every plan includes a monthly allowance of AI Agent resolutions per seat (5 on Basic, 10 on Pro, 20 on Plus), and each resolution beyond that costs $0.85, against $0.99 at Intercom and $0.75 plus no allowance at Help Scout. The honest reservation is depth: Re:amaze is broad rather than deep, its reporting and automation are a tier below Zendesk's, it publishes little about security certification, and a product owned by a domain registrar is unlikely to be anyone's category leader in five years.

Best for

Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce stores with two to fifteen people answering customers across email, chat, social and SMS, who want order data beside every conversation and a per-seat bill that stays predictable, and very small stores with part-time helpers who fit inside the Starter plan's 500 conversations a month.

Not the right fit for

  • Support operations that need deep SLA management, skills-based routing and enterprise reporting; Zendesk and Freshdesk are the stronger machines once process dominates.
  • Buyers with a security questionnaire to satisfy; Re:amaze publishes very little about SOC 2 or ISO certification on its own pages, so plan on asking GoDaddy directly.
  • B2B software companies whose customers live in shared Slack channels; Plain, Unthread and Thena are built for that shape and Re:amaze is not.
  • Teams that want the AI agent to carry most of the load at high volume; at $0.85 a resolution beyond a small per-seat allowance, a heavy deflection programme is a real line item.

How it works

  1. 1

Connect channels. Email addresses forward into unlimited inboxes, and the chat widget installs by script or through the Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and WordPress apps. Social accounts, SMS and voice connect from the channel settings, with SMS and voice from the Pro plan.

  2. 2

Connect the store. The ecommerce integration pulls each customer's orders, so an agent answering 'where is my parcel' sees the order, fulfilment status and history without opening Shopify.

  3. 3

Automate the repeatable. Response templates, workflow macros, prebuilt chatbots (a welcome bot and an order bot) and custom bots handle the predictable questions; cues fire proactive messages based on visitor behaviour.

  4. 4

Turn on the AI agent. It answers from your FAQ and content, hands off to a person when it cannot, and draws down the plan's included resolutions before charging $0.85 each.

  5. 5

Measure and staff. Basic reporting comes with every plan; Pro adds advanced reporting and a live view of who is on the site; Plus adds departments, staff roles, shifts and vacation days, CSAT and per-agent performance reporting.

Feature breakdown

27 features in 6 modules

Shared inbox and channels

One queue for every channel a consumer brand receives, with unlimited inboxes on every plan.
Unlimited email inboxes
Every plan, including Basic and the flat-rate Starter, connects unlimited support addresses, so sales@, support@ and returns@ for several stores do not cost extra.
Live chat widget
A website and web app chat widget on every plan, with an optional Classic chat mode on Plus for teams that prefer the older layout.
Social channels
Facebook Messenger, Instagram and X conversations land in the same inbox as email, with unlimited social channels on every plan.
SMS and voice
Text messaging and VoIP calls inside the help desk from the Pro plan, with integrations for Aircall, JustCall and RingCentral for teams that already run a phone system.
Assignments, notes and shared views
Conversations can be assigned, discussed in internal notes, and filtered into shared views, the collaboration basics a team needs to stop answering the same customer twice.
Multi-brand management
From Pro, one account runs several storefronts or brands, each with its own channels, widget and FAQ centre, which suits operators with a portfolio of stores.

Ecommerce context

The reason the product exists on so many Shopify stores.
Order data in the conversation
Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Stripe integrations surface a customer's orders and payments beside the thread, so order-status questions are answered without switching tabs.
Order bot
A prebuilt chatbot that answers order-status questions on its own, included on every plan.
Live view of site visitors
From Pro, agents see who is on the store right now and can start a conversation with a high-intent shopper, the 'Live' feature Re:amaze sells as a conversion tool.
Push campaigns
Targeted push notification campaigns to re-engage visitors and returning customers, sold as part of the platform rather than a separate marketing product.

Automation and AI

Templates, macros and bots on every plan; an AI agent with an allowance before it meters.
Response templates and workflow macros
Saved replies and multi-step macros on every plan, which is where most of a small team's time saving actually comes from.
Chatbots
A welcome bot, the order bot, and custom bots built from a visual editor, all included from Basic.
Cues (proactive messages)
Behaviour-triggered messages that open a conversation based on page, time on site or other conditions.
Re:amaze AI Agent
Answers customers from your FAQ and content and hands off to a person when needed. Each plan includes resolutions per user per month (5 on Basic, 10 on Pro, 20 on Plus), then $0.85 per additional resolution.
AI intents
From Pro, AI classifies the intent of incoming conversations so they can be routed and reported on by reason rather than by tag.
AI writing assistance
AI helps agents draft, rewrite and summarise replies inside the composer, listed by the vendor as a beta feature.

Self-service and status

A help centre and an incident page, both included rather than sold separately.
Public and internal FAQ
A customisable, embeddable knowledge base for customers and a private one for the team, on every plan, with article feedback and, on Plus, edit history.
Custom hosted domain
From Pro, the FAQ centre can live on your own domain rather than a Re:amaze subdomain, with customisable email appearance alongside it.
Status page
A hosted incident and outage page from Pro, unusual inside a help desk at this price and useful for SaaS teams as much as stores.

Team management and reporting

Basic reporting everywhere, the people-management features on Plus.
Reporting
Conversation, message, tag, workflow and ecommerce reports, basic on every plan and advanced from Pro.
Departments and roles
Staff groups and customisable staff roles on Plus, for teams that need to separate who sees which queues.
Shifts and vacation days
Scheduling that keeps routing honest about who is actually working, on Plus.
Staff performance and CSAT
Per-agent performance reporting and customer satisfaction ratings, both on Plus.
Peek and video calls
Live screensharing of a visitor's view (Peek) and in-chat video calls on Plus, for the moments when describing the problem takes longer than showing it.

Developer platform

Enough to embed support in your own app.
Embed and mobile SDKs
An Embed SDK for web apps and a Mobile SDK for iOS and Android, so the widget and FAQ can live inside your own product.
Custom Module SDK and JSON API
Custom sidebar modules that show your own data in the conversation, and a JSON API for reading and writing conversations and contacts.
Mobile apps
Native iOS and Android apps for agents, so a store owner can answer from a phone.

Use cases

4 documented

Shopify store with a founder and two part-time helpers

About 300 customer conversations a month across email, Instagram and chat, answered by whoever is free, and three or four people who need to log in at different times of year.

Starter at $59 a month flat covers unlimited team members with every Basic feature, including chat, social channels, the order bot and the AI agent, so the bill does not move when a seasonal helper joins. The plan stops at 500 responded conversations a month, which is the line to watch as the store grows.

Operator running three DTC brands

Separate storefronts, separate support addresses and social accounts, one small team, and a need to keep each brand's voice and help centre distinct.

Pro at $49 a seat ($44.10 annually) runs every brand from one account with its own widget, channels and FAQ on a custom domain, adds SMS and voice, and gives advanced reporting across the portfolio.

Ecommerce support team of eight with a CSAT target

Leadership wants per-agent performance numbers and satisfaction scores, and the team runs shifts across time zones.

Plus at $69 a seat ($62.10 annually) adds staff performance reporting, CSAT, departments, roles, shifts and vacation days, plus Peek screensharing and video calls for complicated orders, with 20 AI resolutions per seat included each month.

Small SaaS company that wants a status page and a help desk in one

Incidents currently mean a scramble between a separate status tool, email and a chat widget.

Pro includes the status page, the in-app widget through the Embed SDK, and the FAQ centre, so one subscription replaces two or three tools for a team of three to six.

Pricing

from $29 per team member per month (Basic, $26.10 billed annually), or $59 a month flat for unlimited team members on Starter

Per team member per month across three tiers (Basic, Pro, Plus), billed monthly or annually at a 10 percent discount, plus a flat-rate Starter plan for unlimited team members capped at 500 responded conversations a month. The AI agent includes a monthly resolution allowance per user and meters beyond it. No contracts; month-to-month by default.

PlanPriceIncludes
Starter$59
per month, flat rate, unlimited team members
  • Every Basic feature for unlimited team members
  • Limited to 500 responded conversations per month
  • Unlimited email inboxes and social channels
  • Live chat, chatbots, FAQ centre

The cheapest way into this category for a store with several occasional helpers. The 500-conversation ceiling is the constraint, not the headcount.

Basic$29
per team member per month ($26.10 billed annually)
  • Unlimited email inboxes, live chat and social channels
  • Public and internal FAQ, response templates, workflow macros
  • Chatbots (welcome, order, custom) and cues
  • Basic reporting
  • AI Agent with 5 resolutions per user per month included
Pro$49
per team member per month ($44.10 billed annually)
  • Everything in Basic
  • Multiple brands in one account
  • SMS and voice channels, live view of site visitors
  • Advanced reporting, AI intents, status page
  • Custom hosted domain and customisable email appearance
  • AI Agent with 10 resolutions per user per month included
Plus$69
per team member per month ($62.10 billed annually)
  • Everything in Pro
  • Peek live screensharing and in-chat video calls
  • Departments, customisable roles, shifts and vacation days
  • Staff performance reporting and CSAT
  • FAQ article edit history, optional Classic chat mode
  • AI Agent with 20 resolutions per user per month included

Marked as the most popular plan, and the tier the free trial runs on.

Add-ons

  • Additional AI Agent resolutions ($0.85 per resolution): Charged only beyond the per-user monthly allowance (5, 10 or 20 depending on plan).
  • SMS and voice usage (Carrier charges through your telephony provider): The channels are included from Pro; the underlying telecom usage is billed by the provider you connect.

Billing notes

  • Annual billing saves only 10 percent, so the monthly plan is a reasonable choice for a store that is unsure of its headcount next season.
  • The AI allowance scales with seats: a five-person Pro team gets 50 included resolutions a month, a five-person Basic team only 25. Model the AI bill as (resolutions minus included) times $0.85.
  • Worked example: four agents on Pro at monthly rates is $196. If the AI agent resolves 300 conversations a month, 40 are included and 260 cost $221, for about $417 a month. On Plus the same team pays $276 plus 220 resolutions at $0.85 ($187), about $463, because the allowance doubles.
  • Starter is the anomaly worth checking first: $59 flat for unlimited users costs about the same as two Basic seats ($58), so it wins from the third person onward, as long as the store stays under 500 responded conversations a month.
  • There are no contracts or cancellation fees; billing is month-to-month unless you choose annual.
  • Prices are as of October 2026 and are quoted in USD.

Value assessment: For an ecommerce team, Re:amaze is good value at every tier and exceptional value on Starter. Basic at $29 a seat includes unlimited inboxes, chat, social, chatbots, an FAQ centre and an AI agent with an allowance, which is more channel coverage than Help Scout's $25 Standard seat; Pro at $49 adds SMS, voice, multi-brand and a status page that would otherwise be separate subscriptions. Against Gorgias the trade is seats versus tickets: Gorgias wins for a large seasonal rota answering thousands of order questions, Re:amaze wins for a small, stable team that wants a per-seat bill. The AI pricing is the gentlest metered model among the big names, $0.85 after a per-seat allowance. What you give up is depth and assurance: reporting, routing and SLA tooling are lighter than Zendesk or Freshdesk, and the security documentation is thin for a product with a public company behind it.

Strengths & limitations

Strengths

  • The Starter plan, $59 a month flat for unlimited team members, is one of the cheapest legitimate ways to put a full help desk in front of a small store.
  • Genuinely broad channel coverage for the price: email, chat, Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp, SMS and voice in one inbox, with unlimited inboxes and social channels on every plan.
  • Ecommerce context is native, with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Stripe order data beside the conversation and a prebuilt order bot.
  • AI is metered with an included allowance per seat and a $0.85 overage, gentler than Intercom's $0.99 or Help Scout's $0.75 with no allowance.
  • A status page, push campaigns, Peek screensharing and video calls come inside the help desk rather than as separate purchases.
  • Simple, public, month-to-month pricing with a 14-day trial on the top plan and no credit card.

Limitations

  • Reporting, routing and SLA management are a tier below Zendesk and Freshdesk, so a process-heavy support operation will outgrow it.
  • Security and compliance documentation is sparse on the vendor's own site; SOC 2, ISO 27001 and data residency answers have to be requested.
  • Staff management features (departments, roles, shifts, CSAT) are reserved for Plus at $69 a seat, which pushes a team that needs any one of them up two tiers.
  • SMS and voice start at Pro, so the cheapest plans are email, chat and social only.
  • Ownership by GoDaddy brings stability but also the risk of a portfolio decision; the product's pace of change is steady rather than fast.

Head-to-head comparisons

4 alternatives

Re:amaze vs Gorgias

from $10 per month for the help desk alone (Starter, 50 tickets, 3 seats), or $40 with AI Agent included

Both are ecommerce help desks that put the Shopify order beside the conversation, but they bill on opposite axes. Gorgias charges by ticket, from a $10 help desk for 50 tickets to $360 for 2,000, with 500 seats on every plan above Starter and an AI agent folded into the headline price. Re:amaze charges by seat, from $29, with a $59 flat plan for unlimited users under 500 conversations. A store with a large seasonal rota and thousands of order questions should take Gorgias; a small, stable team that wants a bill that does not move with traffic should take Re:amaze, which also covers SMS, voice and a status page Gorgias sells separately or not at all.

Full Re:amaze vs Gorgias comparison

Re:amaze vs Help Scout

from $21/user/mo (Standard, billed annually; $25 monthly)

Help Scout is the better-crafted email help desk, with a stronger knowledge base, SOC 2 and HIPAA paperwork, and fifteen years of polish. Re:amaze covers more channels per dollar, with social, chatbots and an order bot on its $29 Basic plan and SMS, voice and multi-brand on Pro, and it meters AI more gently: an included allowance per seat and $0.85 beyond it against Help Scout's $0.75 from the first resolution. Choose Help Scout for a B2B or services team where email quality and compliance matter most; choose Re:amaze for a store answering customers on Instagram, chat and text as much as email.

Full Re:amaze vs Help Scout comparison

Re:amaze vs Tidio

from $24.17/mo (Starter, as published on the pricing page)

Tidio is chat-first and priced by billable conversation, from $24.17 a month, with the Lyro AI agent sold separately; Re:amaze is inbox-first and priced per seat, with AI included up to an allowance. For a small store whose support is mostly live chat and whose volume is modest, Tidio is cheaper and its AI is the stronger product. Once email, social and SMS matter as much as chat, or you run several brands, Re:amaze's shared inbox and multi-brand Pro plan are the better fit.

Full Re:amaze vs Tidio comparison

Re:amaze vs Zendesk

from $19 per agent per month (Support Team, billed annually); $55 per agent per month for Suite Team

Zendesk is the deeper machine: skills-based routing, mature SLAs, a large marketplace and enterprise reporting, from $19 a seat for email-only Support Team and $55 for the Suite. Re:amaze gives a small ecommerce team more of what it actually uses for less, with chat, social, order data and an AI allowance on the $29 Basic plan. If support is a department with process and headcount, Zendesk; if it is three people looking after a store, Re:amaze.

    Benefit
Real customer proof sits on the pages where people decide, not only on a review site.
  4. CircleCommunity Platforms · Category Leader
    Because
Re:amaze lists security and compliance documentation is sparse on the vendor's own site among its limits. Circle adds custom domain and a white-labeled member experience from the entry tier.
    Benefit
Customers answer each other in a space the company owns, rather than in a chat nobody can search.
  5. Because
Re:amaze lists SMS and voice start at Pro among its limits. Knock adds free Developer tier.
    Benefit
Product events reach people on the channel they actually read, without building a sender for each one.

Implementation & onboarding

Setup time
A working inbox with email and chat takes under an hour, and the Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce app connects order data in a few clicks. Adding social channels, building an FAQ and configuring bots and workflows is a day or two for a small team.
Learning curve
Low for agents, who get a conventional shared inbox with the order in the sidebar. Moderate for whoever builds custom bots, workflows and multi-brand setups.
Onboarding
Self-serve with a 14-day trial on all Plus features and no credit card, plus demos on request. The vendor answers support by email and chat.
Migration notes
Inboxes, templates and FAQ articles move easily; full conversation history from another help desk is the usual sticking point, so many stores cut over on a date and keep the old archive read-only.

Frequently asked questions

15 questions

What is Re:amaze?

Re:amaze is a help desk and live chat platform, owned by GoDaddy since 2021, that brings email, chat, social media, WhatsApp, SMS and voice into one shared inbox. It is built mainly for online stores, with Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce integrations that show a customer's orders beside the conversation, and it adds chatbots, an FAQ centre, a status page and an AI agent.

How much does Re:amaze cost?

Basic is $29 per team member per month, Pro $49 and Plus $69, or $26.10, $44.10 and $62.10 on annual billing. Starter is $59 a month flat for unlimited team members with every Basic feature, capped at 500 responded conversations a month. The AI agent includes 5, 10 or 20 resolutions per user per month depending on plan and charges $0.85 for each one beyond that. There is a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Does Re:amaze have a free plan?

No. There is a 14-day free trial with all Plus features and no credit card. The cheapest paid option for a team of several people is Starter at $59 a month flat.

What is the Re:amaze Starter plan?

A flat-rate plan at $59 a month that gives unlimited team members every Basic feature, including live chat, social channels, chatbots and the FAQ centre, but limits the account to 500 responded conversations a month. It suits small stores with several occasional helpers and modest volume.

How is the Re:amaze AI agent priced?

Each plan includes AI resolutions per user per month: 5 on Basic, 10 on Pro and 20 on Plus. Beyond the allowance, each resolution costs $0.85. A four-person Pro team therefore gets 40 included resolutions a month before any usage charge.

Does Re:amaze integrate with Shopify?

Yes, and it is one of the longest-standing help desks in the Shopify app store. The integration shows orders and customer history beside each conversation and powers a prebuilt order bot. BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Stripe integrations work the same way.

Which channels does Re:amaze support?

Email, live chat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, X and WhatsApp on every plan, with SMS and voice from Pro. Push notification campaigns and in-chat video calls are also available, the latter on Plus.

Can I manage several brands in one Re:amaze account?

Yes, from the Pro plan. Each brand gets its own channels, chat widget and FAQ centre, and the team works them from one inbox. Basic and Starter are single-brand.

Who owns Re:amaze?

GoDaddy, which acquired it in April 2021. The product kept its name as Re:amaze by GoDaddy, its own pricing and its San Jose base.

Is Re:amaze SOC 2 compliant?

The vendor does not state a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 attestation on its pricing or product pages. If you need one, ask Re:amaze or GoDaddy for documentation during procurement rather than assuming either way.

Re:amaze or Gorgias for a Shopify store?

Gorgias charges by ticket and gives 500 seats on every plan above Starter, which favours a big seasonal team answering thousands of order questions. Re:amaze charges by seat, from $29, or $59 flat for unlimited users under 500 conversations, which favours a small, stable team, and it adds SMS, voice and a status page.

Is there a contract?

No. Re:amaze bills month-to-month with no cancellation fees, or annually for a 10 percent discount.

What should I pair Re:amaze with?

Re:amaze is a support tool, and a team running it still has 7 neighbouring categories to staff. The pick in each is Userpilot for product onboarding & PLG, Paddle Retain for retention & churn prevention, Trustpilot for testimonials & social proof, Circle for community platforms, Knock for notification infrastructure, Amplitude for product analytics & session replay and Paddle for subscription billing, each the leading tool in that category on published criteria.

What do I pair with Re:amaze for Product Onboarding & PLG?

Userpilot. Re:amaze is built for support, not onboarding. Userpilot adds goal tracking per experience.

Is Re:amaze enough on its own?

For support, yes. Re:amaze does not cover retention & churn prevention, testimonials & social proof and community platforms, and its own profile says so; Paddle Retain, Trustpilot and Circle are the tools that fill those gaps.

Editorial verdict

Re:amaze is the sensible help desk for a small ecommerce team that answers customers everywhere rather than mostly by email. The per-seat prices are fair, the channel coverage on Basic is wider than most rivals charge for, the order context is native, and the AI is metered more kindly than at Intercom or Help Scout, with a per-seat allowance before $0.85 a resolution. The Starter plan deserves attention from every tiny store: $59 a month for unlimited helpers is close to the cheapest real help desk on the market. The reservations are depth and assurance. Reporting, routing and SLAs are lighter than Zendesk's, the staff-management features sit on the $69 tier, and the security documentation is thin for a GoDaddy product. Buy it if you run a store with two to fifteen people on support; look at Gorgias if you run a large seasonal operation, and at Zendesk if support is a department with process to enforce.
